Halloween Inspired Painted Silhouettes

Post Contributed by Jocelyne Adkins, Program Director

Today we explored silhouettes in classic form, painting our subject with black tempera over a lighter watercolor background. Our focus on shape last week prepared many of our students for this activity and their enthusiasm for the upcoming holiday and creating ghoolish images kept the atmosphere quite festive. The completed illustrations are perfect for the Halloween season with images of pumpkins, castles, haunted houses, bats, and more!
