Garfield Park Field Trip!!!

Post Contributed by Jocelyne Adkins, Program Director

Beye Discovery was fortunate to spend the better part of the day at the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago due to the scheduled Teacher Institute Day at Beye. The outdoor building area to the left of the edible garden is a favorite place to take students. Palm fronds, tree trimmings, seed pods, and many other natural items became the foundation and the walls for homes and even an anaconda pet store! The opportunities for imaginative play were numerous and the pictures speak volumes ~ we invite you to have a look below... you will also see pictures of the visiting goats to the conservatory, the beautiful prairie, and photos of our students painting in the Conservatory's "Monet Garden".

Who shrunk the kids??? Don't worry, we returned them to their original size before leaving : )

Field Trips are always so much fun, however this one was exceptionally terrific! We would like to thank our students for such a beautiful day visiting the Conservatory ~ your enthusiasm and appreciation of all that surrounded you today was very uplifting : )
