Extrordinary Animals That Fly...

Post Contributed by Jocelyne Adkins, Program Director

Hi Families!

Our theme this week is "Extraodinary Animals that Fly". We studied magical fireflies on Monday; visited Trailside Museum on Wednesday for a fabulous program on raptors; and today was wide open to student interpretation (p.s. on Tuesday we departed from our theme to complete our "unicorn story boxes" from last week).

Using homemade dough in bright colors, many students focused their creations on birds and flying dinosaurs. A metal tea infuser became a coveted tool to create egg shapes for several of the students. And a garlic press provided just the right textures to fashion a number of bird nests. Sycamore tree bark and sticks were also utilized to create nests that cradled the students' creations. We were pleased to see the students independently take their work to the next level! Bravo : )
