Early in December, the idea for the Secret Santa gift exchange was contributed by Govanni, a Beye Discovery 5th grader. Since everyone embraced the idea (a big thank you to Govanni), each student made 1 or more items to give as a present to a classmate. Most of our Secret Santa gift exchanges took place on Thursday, December
22nd and Friday, December 23rd. We had students take turns handing out the
gifts and the recipient sat in the rocking chair flanked by classmates along 2
sides (thanks to Sydney, a 4th grader, for this great idea!) Everyone was so appreciative of
their gifts and eager to participate in the exchanges. It was such a wonderful
way to bring 2011 to a close! Thank you to all the students for their generosity and thoughtfulness!
