Week 8: Nature Walk and Printing with Solar Sensitive Paper

Hi Families,

Our nature walks, even when they are only 2 blocks around the school, are always super enjoyable. We find items in nature that allow us to observe, question, compare and appreciate. Whether it is a seed pod emerging from a leaf, a gorgeous shadow of tree's canopy against a building or insect galls attached to a fallen leaf, all is there for us to take in. Our intent today was to create solar prints using the items students collected from nature: they did a great job finding items and arranging their leaves, seed pods, etc. Unfortunately, the solar sensitive paper was a bum batch! I'm glad we have the photos to document their process... all was not lost :)
