Week 8: Dancing Silhouettes with Outdoor Paint!
Hi Families,
We practiced a
dance move or two, grabbed some chalk and eco-friendly milk powder
paint then went to work (can we call this work?) energizing the blacktop
with our painted silhouettes! We shared Keith Haring's bold, colorful
and kid-friendly figures for inspiration and also asked students to
consider how pattern could be used to give additional energy to their
figures' silhouettes. This is a great way to temporarily decorate an urban landscape, transforming a dull surface into one with vitality! Another version of this activity (if the sun cooperates) is to trace each others shadows (see photos at the end). A fun game of shadow tag is also highly recommended!
